Density aka Cam Orton is a DJ and producer from Perth with releases on labels including Cyberfunk, C-Recordings, SubEra, Protocode, Kill Tomorrow and New Forms.
The journey into DnB began around 15 years ago when a friend left a CD in Cam’s first car (Hospitality Presents: The is Drum and Bass). After being on repeat for several years, Cam was hooked on the sound of 174BPM – a chronic record collecting addiction came soon after.
As a DJ, Cam has supported acts like Pola & Bryson, Sustance, Phace, Spectrasoul, Techminatic, 1991, Monrroe, Matrix & Futurebound and more. A Density DJ set is an energetic mix of modern & classic tunes, spanning DnB, Half-time, 140 & garage. Expect all things broken beats & deep bass…
His productions draw influence from the more musical side of DnB, from artists like Spectrasoul, Workforce, Calibre and Logistics. Having always struggled to find a musical outlet after years of learning guitar academically, Cam took to the dive into music production in about 2015 and started throwing ideas around. Not content with only DnB being the output, the focus turns to deep dubstep, half-time and garage occasionally.
